Chuck and I stayed home this year to celebrate our blessings of the past year and look forward to the blessings of the new year. Chuck was really, really sick, so that part sucked. But, it was short-lived and at least Nicky was able to enjoy the day with our family. Of all Christmases, this is the one to be sick, since Nicky won’t remember it. We had a nice day yesterday…all the wrapping was done, so we could just relax and have a nice day together as a family. Nicky started it off by sleeping until almost 10am and it was nice! The night before, Paul, Robin, Ben, Paul’s parents, Kris and Ang came over for dinner and Wii, [...] Today, we took advantage of the yucky weather and stayed home to wrap some presents. We didn’t get very far, but we got a good start and at least everything is in the dining room now, so it’ll go more quickly when we pick up tomorrow. We tried to put on a holiday show [...] We went to Buffalo today to see Sammy Jo…boy, is she little! If I ever thought Nicky was a big boy, it was this afternoon. Granted, they’re three months apart, and Nicky was born two weeks late and Sammy three weeks early; at eight days old, Sammy probably is just under seven and a [...] Rebecca sent me this photo today…she is beautiful!
This weekend, Chuck set up the tree, then Nicky and I put up the ornaments:
We also decorated the living room, the dining room and the kitchen a little bit. Chuck also put lights on the outside of the house; this is the first year we’ve ever done [...] This afternoon at 2:15pm, Rebecca and Scott welcomed their new baby girl, Samantha Josephine, into the world! She was a surprise at 3 weeks early, but is doing well. She is 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 20 inches long! Everyone is doing well and was resting when I got the news! Nicky and his cousin Abbie are so cute! As our first Thanksgiving with Nicky comes to an end, I must give thanks for my family, both immediate and extended. I am truly blessed to be surrounded with such wonderful people and am thankful every day of my life. I look forward to sharing this joy with our son as he grows. |
