I forgot to add to the previous post that I weighed Nicky at the doctor’s office on Wednesday – with his diaper on, he was 20 pounds, 2 ounces. Nicky is allergic to milk. When I gave him lunch on Wednesday (an egg yolk and a TINY bit of American cheese), he started getting red around the mouth and breaking out into hives right before my eyes. He wouldn’t stop itching and his face was all red and looked like a hundred [...] Nicky can go from a lying position to a sitting position on his own now! And, he crawls on his knees quite a bit; I think he still prefers to push along on his tummy, but I don’t think it’ll be that way for long! He also pulls himself up onto everything and walks [...] We have lots of really great toys for Nicky. Some make noises or have lights, but we picked out all of them because they inspire creativity and learning. While he likes to play with all of them, some more than others, he definitely has some other ideas for how to entertain himself. Here are [...] Nicky has a few things that he absolutely LOVES and he eats them like he’s never eaten before… green beans with apples or pears sweet potatoes with apples butternut squash with bananas He’ll easily eat twice as much of those things, compared with his normal meals! What a change from last week, when he [...] Nicky learned how to click his tongue on Sunday. He grabs his blanket off the side of the crib when it’s time for him to take a nap. The cuteness never ends around here! Finally…after several days of mixing various foods with rice, oat, or barley cereals, I finally got Nicky to eat well without any cereal! I mixed mangoes and butternut squash, two foods that he previously liked a lot, and the result was INCREDIBLE! He gobbled it right up, and I had run out of squash, [...] Literally, yes…it’s almost 65 degrees out and perfectly sunny. But, more importantly, it’s beautiful in the house, too! Nicky’s been having a rough time for the past few weeks with sleeping and eating; he’s been waking up every night to feed and he only wants to eat oatmeal when it’s time for him to [...] Today, I used mother spit to clean some leftover oatmeal off of Nicky’s face. Guess who was standing up in his crib this morning? That’s right, this is the first time I found Nicky standing up when I went into his room this morning! Good thing Chuck lowered the mattress to the lowest level on Friday! (And good thing the crib his a chew guard on the railing!) |
