Just got back from my 38-week doctor’s visit…I’ve got lots of good things to report: 28-pound total weight gain (lots of which is water) Baby’s dropped! 1.5 centimeters dilated 80% effaced Dr. Kerpelman didn’t mention anything about when Baby’s coming, but she did say that I’m doing well and that this is more on [...] We went for a walk today…4 miles! I was exhausted but it must have gotten my circulation going, ’cause my ankles look great! We rewarded ourselves with a nice, relaxing swim in Tina’s pool…ahh! I had my 36-week appointment this morning. My ankle swelling is better and it even shows in my weight…I lost three pounds since last week! I must have miscalculated my weight, though…my total gain to date is 21 pounds, so perfect. I think I got “pregnancy brain” this morning when she took me [...] I’m tired and fat. Otherwise, stuff is good. It’s my last week of work before a MUCH needed vacation, so I’m very excited about that! We had a fun weekend (except for getting to work extra on Sunday). Robin and Ang threw me a beautiful baby shower and Ang’s house…they made a ton of [...] On Friday, I had my 34-week doctor’s visit. I gained another 5.5 pounds, ALL WATER WEIGHT my doctor assured me! You can definitely tell…my poor feet and ankles are so swollen! Otherwise, everything is well. Baby is still in the right position and blood pressure’s good. Because of the swelling, though, my doctor [...] Wanna play a game? I started a game to guess about our baby! They’re ripping out the old shower right now, then they’ll start tiling the new one on Thursday. They plan on having everything done in a week…I’m very excited! [...] Yesterday was Jen’s latest visit to the OB. She gained a pound since her last visit, putting her total weight gain at 20 pounds. Everything continues to be very good at this point: blood pressure, not too much ankle swelling, baby’s heartbeat, baby’s size and position. Only 53 days left until Jen’s due date. [...] Baby Gruener has decided that he/she is going to move nearly all the time now. Every night when Jen and I start to fall asleep, the kicking, wiggling, moving, swimming, whatever-ing begins. I swear that the kid doesn’t sleep, but I know that just isn’t the case. You can even see Jen’s belly move [...] Chuck and I started baby classes this week. We took a class called “Bringing Home Baby to your Pets” on Wednesday evening, given by two doulas with Birth Matters! in the city. The class was incredibly informative, with lots of great suggestions for how to prepare Keanu for the arrival of his baby brother [...] My bloodwork came back from the glucose testing; all is good. My sugar and my hematocrit and both good, so we can rest easier now! We painted the nursery last week and it’s really beautiful! It’s called “Nurture Green” and it’s perfect with the white trim around the room. Chuck put together the changing [...] |
