We’re on vacation! Yay!
The restaurant Black & Blue was an excellent choice for our 5th Anniversary dinner. It was also a great way to start what has already turned out to be a busy vacation.
Saturday we did a lot of organizing around the house. Our master bathroom is nearly finished and we are just waiting for the shower door before painting. The nursery also got finished and I plan on posting pictures soon. Saturday evening was the 10 year class reunion for Kenmore West. It was hosted at the Pearl Street Grill in Buffalo, NY. It was great to see so many people that we’ve missed over the years.
We stayed at Jen’s parent’s house after the reunion and spent Sunday swimming in my parent’s pool. After swimming, Jen’s pretty sure she experienced her first contraction. Exciting and scary at the same time. Later on we did a Mighty Taco run for dinner and headed home after eating.
On Monday, Jen had a pedicure while I ran to Home Depot for some stuff. The rest of the day was more shopping and organizing.
Today we relaxed for a while, had a morning phone call with our financial advisor, then mailed our baby shower thank you cards. Just before heading out to Wegmans for some needed groceries, we stopped at our next door neighbor’s house to see how they were doing. We hadn’t heard any news if Katie had her baby since she was due on Sunday. We went over to let them know we were on vacation this week and if they needed anything, they should just ask. When Chris came to the door to answer, he had Rylie in his arms! Jen and I were so surprised!
Katie had Rylie on Saturday, July 21st at around 3AM. She was 7lbs 11oz and 21in long. Cute does not even begin to describe her. She was absolutely perfect. Chris hadn’t had much sleep for the past few days and he still looked like he was doing great. He was smiling from ear to ear. Not wanting to impose as we weren’t aware of the newborn in the house, Jen and I left and made our way to Wegmans.
Now we’re watching America’s Got Talent before heading off to sleep for the evening.
