I haven’t been feeling well lately, so I’ve not been blogging as much. Here are some things that have been going on with Nicky lately:
- He’s really good with his letters, numbers, colors and most shapes. He points out letters wherever we go, and everything spells “Nick” according to him.
- He likes to make the stuffed animals on the changing table kiss each other while I change his diaper. This is the first I’ve seen him role-play with his toys.
- He sucked his finger raw; he only sucks it at naptime and bedtime, but it’s quite larger than his other fingers and cracked in several places. We’ve been trying to convince him to suck another finger until it gets better. He tries, but I think it’s just not the same for him. Yesterday, I put some Lansinoh on his finger and it seemed to help a little bit. I chose that because it’s designed for nursing mothers and safe even for newborns to ingest. He didn’t like the taste, I don’t think, so I hope that if I do that before sleeping time, he’ll suck his other finger instead.
- Last night at dinner, Nicky looked at both Chuck and I, cocked his head to the side and said “I wuv you”. It was so beautiful and melted our hearts!
Hopefully, I’ve turned the corner and will start feeling better soon, so I can have a little more time to jot these things down. The baby book only goes up to a year, and then has a page for each birthday, so there’s nothing to really encourage me to keep track of all of this, and I know I’ll want to remember it.
