As in, I weigh less than Chuck does. I don’t think that’s ever happened (seriously!) as long as we’ve both been alive! Boo-yah! Yesterday, I noticed that Nicky’s first molar popped through his gum, on his upper left! Finally, because I feel like he’s been teething forever with nothing to show for it. In trying to better organize the photos of Nicky, I created some albums, moved some photos, etc. Long story short, the links to photos in old posts don’t work anymore. It was a decision that needed to be made for organizational purposes. Well, the birthday festivities have come and gone. I can’t believe how quickly everything has happened. We are now parents of a toddler, not a baby (even though I’m pretty sure Nicky’s always going to be my baby). Chuck has updated the photo site a bit, and we also got Nicky’s one-year photos online. The girl who took them spelled his name wrong on some of the pictures, and it didn’t get changed on any of the ones we didn’t purchase. Don’t bother trying to print them; they’re copyrighted images that are designed to print out terribly because they’re strictly for online viewing purposes. So, Nicky seems to be blossoming these days. His vocabulary is increasing by the day! He can tell you what a cow says: He also just learned yesterday that a horse says, “Nay, nay”. He says done, door, duck, hat, hot, head, da-da, mom and no-no. He can tell you where your nose and eyes are (just not his yet), and he can show you his head, ear, belly, toes, hands and tongue. He can also show you how old he is, holding up one finger! I’m so proud of him! He’s sleeping now, and since the party planning has ceased, I can finally relax and enjoy an early night to bed. Ahh… Our baby is ONE year old today; I can’t believe it! Chuck took the day off from work so that we could get ready for Nicky’s birthday party on Sunday and, more importantly, celebrate! Nicky slept in a little bit (and so did we!) and enjoyed a nice, relaxing day of playing with toys and reading books. We’ll probably take him for a walk in his wagon before dinner, then give him his birthday cupcake after. Then, it’ll be time for presents, yay! He’s awake from his nap, so we’re off to continue the party… We were keeping the nice books on the top shelf of Nicky’s bookshelf for when he’s older and can be careful turning the pages, until yesterday, that is. He’s been reaching up there and grabbing books for at least a week now, so yesterday, I moved them to the top shelf of his closet until he’s older. That ought to take care of the problem for a little bit! I can’t believe how much Nicky understands these days, and it’s increasing by the minute! Here are two really cute things he did recently:
He just amazes me every day with new things; I can’t believe it! Every day, he puts his laundry in the basket after I change his clothes. He even helped me put the wash in the washing machine one day last week and he loved it! I think he learns a new body part every day. He’s so smart! Another new one:
I finally caught up with the past three weeks of photos; you can check them out here. I love some of the cute things Nicky’s picked up along the way…
And my favorite…
