We got a couple of shelves for Nicky’s room last week when they were on sale at Target last week and finally got the chance to put them up last night. They look good and and will hold some of the things that are currently on the bookshelf that should be placed out of Nicky’s reach (like photo frames) when the crawling starts, which really could be any time now. He’s definitely mobile, rolling and inching along all over the place!
While we had the tools out, we decided to lower the mattress in Nicky’s crib, in case he decides to learn how to pull himself up on his own when he’s in there. It’s now to the second lowest level, so we’ve got one more slot to move down when he’s standing up in the crib. We decided to keep the bumper in there a little bit longer so that we don’t change everything at once and maybe take it out by the end of the week.
Nicky’s also started sucking his forefinger a little bit, just like both Chuck and I did when we were kids. He still seems to show preference to his left thumb, but sometimes like the flavor of his left finger. I tried to take a picture last night but every time I put he camera up, he pulled his finger out and gave me a big smile!
We’re relaxing in the living room right now, ready to enjoy the day from the inside. It’s about 14 degrees out right now, and we’ve got nothing to do for the day (except, of course, for Nicky’s laundry!) so we’ll probably watch the football games and play with Nicky. We have so much fun together!
