Okay, here’s the latest and greatest…
I’m growing a very large baby, probably over ten pounds by now, by the looks of the ultrasound I had on Thursday. Dr. Gabel is concerned because the numbers on the ultrasound show a possibly disproportionate baby, meaning the shoulders and abdomen might be large and he’s afraid he/she will get stuck if we try a natural childbirth. He recommended an elective c-section because he said I’ll hate them forever if they induce me (since he’s pretty sure I’m not going to go into labor on my own by Thursday) and I go through labor but still have to have a c-section because the baby gets stuck in the birth canal. He said that he really feels it’s the safest way to go, so we’ve scheduled a c-section for Wednesday afternoon. He’ll perform the surgery, which makes me happy. I really trust him.
I just got back from my second non-stress test; everything is great. The baby wiggled so much that it showed up on the monitor as contractions, since the baby kicked at the contraction device pretty much the whole time. Good news is that Baby’s very healthy and active; bad news is that Baby doesn’t realize that he/she is two weeks overdue and is still having a grand old time in my belly.
Overall, this is good. We now know what’s going to happen and when, so I’ve locked the baby game once again. We’ll post the winner when I get back home.
Damn! Now I’ve definitely lost the baby game!
