He has been saying “da da” for a while, but not really attaching it to Chuck, but it seems like he’s starting to learn the meaning of “da da” and “daddy”. He also says “doggie” and “done”, it’s super-cute! Finally, we’ve finished our spring cleaning around here! I waited because all of us have springtime allergies, so I didn’t want to open all of the windows and get pollen in the house. We think that it’s tree pollen that causes the problems, and it’s gone now, so I opened all of the windows and cleaned them. I don’t enjoy doing it at all, but I feel so great when it’s all done. Ahhh… Catching up on a couple of things…Nicky got goat cheese the other day, and he seems to be allergic to that, too. We’re seeing the dietitian on Thursday, and we’ll discuss it with her then. We gave Nicky eggplant for dinner tonight, and he didn’t like it. He usually eats everything, even if he’s not fond of it, but he definitely didn’t like eggplant. That’s okay, we’ll try it again another time. Major problem this morning – my beloved hand mixer kicked the bucket. Chuck truly is the best father and husband ever, because he ran right out to Bed Bath & Beyond to get me a new one. We’ll call the company tomorrow, since there’s a three-year warranty on it, and they’ll probably send a new one that we’ll return to the store. At the rate Nicky’s eating food now (4-8 cubes or 1/2-1 cup per meal!), I have to make his food almost every day to keep up! We went over to the Coon’s house today for a picnic. We had a great time! Nicky and Parker are the same age and so cute together: They played with toys, splashed in the pool, and played with toys again. We took a few photos that I’ll post, but not many. I know Margaret and her family took a bunch of cute ones, so if I get my hands on those ones, I’ll post them, too. We came home and took Nicky for his first wagon ride:
Turns out we’ll have to call the company on that one, too, because the front two wheels wobble a lot and we’re not sure why. Nicky still had a lot of fun, and so did Chuck – I really think he had the best first Father’s Day he could have asked for! We finally realized that Nicky waves bye-bye…he waves to his lips and it’s very cute! I just love these products and feel the need to blog about them:
Glad I shared my thoughts on those! I can’t believe it – my baby took his first steps today! He’s been cruising around the furniture and walls for a few weeks now, and I keep thinking he looks like he’s ready…he walked about 4 or 5 steps in a row to me this morning and did it again a few more times! Wow, wow, wow, I can’t believe how beautiful it was! I just noticed Nicky’s seventh tooth coming in! It’s on the bottom left, and it looks like the right one will be right behind it! For the first time since Nicky was born, I went out with the girls to a movie. About seven of us met at Tinseltown for an 8:40 pm showing of Sex and the City. I’ve been a fan of the show since we started renting the DVDs a few years ago, and the movie was just like watching the next season of the show all in one sitting. I knew before I went that the movie was long (almost 2 and 1/2 hours), but I still drank a bottle of water in the theater. Man, that was dumb…I had to pee so badly but didn’t want to miss anything, so I almost burst! Still, it was worth it – I really loved the movie! It was just as raunchy as the show (NOT the TBS version!) and I loved seeing what happened to the girls as their stories progressed. Of course, when I got home, I went straight upstairs to check on Nicky. That’s the best part about going out for a little while…I’ll always get to come home to see my baby. |
