Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a really wonderful holiday with so much to be thankful for!  We are very, very blessed to have such beautiful family in so many ways – when we asked Nicky what he’s thankful for, his answer was, “You’re thankful for Ryan!” (he refers to himself as “you”).  Life doesn’t get any better [...]

A good, big boy!

Ryan is such a great addition to our family; it’s like he’s always been here.  Everyone’s adjusting well to him, especially Nicky.  He loves to hold Ryan every day and help with things Ryan needs.  We couldn’t feel happier!

Ryan still only gets up once in the night to eat, and that’s been pushed [...]

Birth announcements

Last Monday, we took Ryan and Nicky to JC Penney to have photos taken for Ryan’s birth announcements.  Here are the photos – they turned out beautifully!

Enjoying our time together

We haven’t had a chance to blog about our new family yet – so far, we’re doing well!  Nicky is the best big brother anyone could ask for!  He loves Ryan; he loves to check on him and look at him and hold him and kiss him.  It’s really, really sweet to watch.

Chuck [...]

Email Updates

Ryan has his own gruener.us email address, ryan@gruener.us, along with the rest of the family.  (nick@gruener.us, keanu@gruener.us, jen@gruener.us, chuck@gruener.us)  If anyone would like to send on a message, we’ll archive it for him to read when he’s able to.

In addition, if anyone else out there on the Internet would like a gruener.us email [...]

A late welcome

On Tuesday afternoon at 12:31, we welcomed our second son, Ryan Thomas Gruener into the world!  He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was a whopping 22 and 1/2 inches long!  (Cooked almost three weeks longer, Nicky was 9 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 and 1/4 inches long!)  Here is a link to his [...]

Not nesting, just being productive!

Yesterday and today, I made it my focus to make some meals that had enough leftovers to freeze for while I’m in the hospital and for a while after.   I made the the zucchini, ham and potato soup yesterday along with the butternut squash and pear soup from the Wegmans Menu magazine.  Today, I [...]

38 and 1/2 weeks!

Six days to go!  Chuck, Nick and I all went to see Dr. Gabel this morning.  There’s been no progress as far as labor goes, which is a good thing.  Everything is set for Tuesday morning, and we even got a later time – 9:30am!  We were originally scheduled for 7:30am, but we have [...]

Happy 2nd birthday, Nicky!

Our baby is 2 years old today!  When I asked what he wanted for lunch, he said “pancakes”, so Chuck and I made these very easy pancakes for lunch.  Yum!  We’ve had a very nice day so far; everyone slept in a little bit.  After breakfast, Nicky opened his birthday presents from us, then [...]

34-week OB visit

Friday was my most recent visit to the OB.  I saw Dr. Kerpelman again and had a pretty uneventful visit.  Everything looks good and I’m already starting my weekly visits!  Four more visits and we’ll have a new baby, wow!
