I made these with Nicky today – YUM! Everyone who knows me well knows that chocolate chip cookies are the way to my heart, so any way to prepare them is all good with me!

I made these for dessert for a barbeque at Kris and Ang’s house tonight. They (of course) didn’t look quite as nice as the photo, but I think most people liked them. We even substituted the center layer – we used a tofu cream cheese and soy vanilla ice cream and it was really [...] I set up another baby game here; please join the fun! I made this recipe for pulled pork sandwiches for dinner tonight, easy and YUM! Nicky liked it, too, but I just think he’s going through the stage that Diana warned us about – sometimes he just doesn’t eat. He ate well all yesterday, and breakfast and lunch were good today, so I’m not worried. [...] Margaret and I took Parker and Nicky to the zoo on Friday. We had a great time! When we saw the baboons, the zookeeper told us that it was naptime and that the mommies and babies were snuggling together. Now, when I tell Nicky we should pretend it’s naptime in the baboon cage, he [...] I tried a few new recipes this week. Two vegetable sides were from a recipe book sent to me by Eileen from the Air Force Spouses’ Club. The corn casserole was super-easy and tasty (as it should have been, with half a cup of soy butter!) and the carrot casserole was good as well. [...] Chuck took the day off from work today so that he could join Nicky and me for our anatomical ultrasound this morning. When we went for the same thing when I was pregnant with Nicky, they only had the little monitor to look at, so I was on my back and really uncomfortable with [...] Nicky has really started to expand the songs he’ll sing for us these days – here’s a current list of what he sings: Tomorrow Copacabana Karma Chameleon Puff the Magic Dragon The Worm Song (Nobody Likes Me, Everybody Hates Me) Ring Around the Rosey Daddy Be a Horsey Walking My Mommy Comes Back The [...] I tried a new recipe tonight – Creamy Cheesy Ham and Pasta. Of course, I substituted soy products for the milk ones and we didn’t have any onions. Because I only had vanilla soymilk, it was a little sweeter than originally intended, so we put some pepper on top for flavor and enjoyed it [...] Chuck and I both have seasonal allergies that seem to flare up in the spring, right when all of the flowers start to bloom. We thought Nicky was developing those same allergies last year, and we were right. This past week or so has been full of boogers, sneezing and coughing. Chuck’s been mildly [...] |
